The Ally Rally was thought of by members of Spring Thing when we were informed of the sudden death of our good friend Ally Hickman. Ally had been a member of ST for a few years and in that time had helped out with rescue dogs whenever she could, joined in the fun on the forum and become member that everyone was fond of. It was therefore such a shock to us all when Ally's partner Simon told us that she had died suddenly at the end of September 2007, she was only 27 years old.
The idea of some kind of of memorial was suggested and eventually members came up with the idea of the Ally Rally whereby Triumph the cuddly Springer would travel the country, meeting ST members and raising money along the way which will be donated to some of Ally's favourite rescues.
Triumph (who was named after the Triumph
motor cars which Ally loved started his journey at Lizard Point in Cornwall
in October 2007
