I can't stress enough the importance of getting your puppy enrolled in a puppy class, it is vital for early socialisation and some basic training. Only kind, and effective modern techniques are used and puppies are ‘educated’ to have good manners, be friendly with adults, children, and other dogs, and respond to commands. All classes are stimulating and the emphasis is on fun for owners and puppies. Puppies need to begin classes between 12 – 20 weeks old so that they are all at a similar stage of development. This allows them to play together easily. Since good classes get booked up quickly, it is recommended that you reserve your place in a class nearest to you as soon as you can, even before you get a puppy if possible.
Puppy School tutors are carefully selected by Gwen Bailey to ensure they have good communication skills, experience with animals, empathy, compassion and respect for others. Tutors attend regular courses in animal behaviour and training techniques, and keep up to date with information that may be useful to pet dog owners.
