More recipes for your Springer, all tested by Willow.

Naturediet Nuggets

  • 1 tub of naturediet (available most pet shops, its a natural complete wet food) ideally use something other than original or tripe as they stink when cooking.
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 egg
  • 100ml water
  • 160g flour (use a gluten free option for gluten intolerant)

Add naturediet, garlic, egg and water to processor, blitz and start to add flour until it becomes a thick cake mixture. Spread on a baking tray and cook at 180oC for about 20 mins. If your dog likes it quite moist then use once cool but I then cut into small squares and pop back in the oven at a reduced temp for about 15 mins so they become crunchy nuggets.

Willow Says - these smelt so good as mum made them, I started squeaking at her while it was still on the food processor, we had lots on our walk today and it was really good for getting my naughty brother Paddy to come back. Here is a picture of my naughty brothers, Paddy and Bilbo trying to steal some when mummy was taking a picture - Boys are bad!!

Naturediet Nuggets - worth getting told off for!

Peanut butter biscuits

  • 3 tbs of peanut butter - chunky is best according to Willow
  • 1 cup of flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 - 1/2 cup of water

Put the peanut butter, egg and flour into food processor, turn on and then gradually add water until it comes into a ball, roll out on floured surface and cut out using any cutter, bake at 170oC until golden brown and crispy.

Willow says - these are yummy, I love peanut butter so these biscuits are really yummy and crunchy.

Cheesy Kongs

By using grated cheese or slices of processed cheese you can pop some dinner biscuits in the kong, add some cheese, few more biscuits and top with cheese, into the microwave until the cheese starts to melt, then set them aside to cool - remember the cheese inside will be hot so let them cool right down. A big hit in our house, thanks to Caroline with Fern, Braan and Jock for this tip.
